when you don't watch the news, small ones are not big deals. it seems like people's concept of earthboundedness is glamorized by tragedies. it's sick, i think. have you heard yet? life could be better.

I can't help it at night I dream of tragedies that could tear me kicking and screaming from life they aren't wishes, exactly just contingency plans kinda like the fire extinguisher mom kept under the cupboard and never used it dried up from misuse but still, we knew it was there

Another tragedy on the clock, But this one hits a little close to home. We gather, as a family might, and provide comfort. One rushes, in the early morning hours, to be beside the other when it finally happens. News comes out over the airwaves that one was lost, and the rituals begin. We are a family, really. And we gather to provide comfort.
