epitome of incomprehensibility Today:

-A pen from a Financial Aid and Awards rep (she couldn't answer my question, but the pen was good)

-Two folders from a bin of free books in the linguistics/languages dept. (They also had some Spanish books I might like, but I'm heading to choir and my bags are pretty full.)

e_o_i Yesterday, Spanish books from the same box. For Mom. The interesting-looking linguistics books were taken. 221201

epitome of incomprehensibility -TA meeting for our department. Mooched: two candy canes, two bottles of bubbly. As in Bubly, Michael Bublé's punnishly-named brand of tonic water. (Or soda. But these are just flavoured, not sugary, and should soda be sugary? Semantics, semantics.) 221208

e_o_i -A very small brownie from a table promoting the Art Matters festival

-A cup and a half of water from a closed jug with floating citrus slices. This was in the library auditorium on a cloth-covered table, so probably leftover catering from some conference or other. The table also had a few small, slightly convex, opaque bottles that looked like they should contain yogurt drinks but instead claimed to hold popcorn. I feared to investigate.

e_o_i -The graduate students' office. I'm not a graduate student (not here and now), but one of them offered it to me for my online tutoring class (thank you, Sandy!)

She also said I could take one of the snacks on the shelf, granola bars and such; self-conscious of my technical trespassing, however, I left such dainties unmooched.
