saycation
epitome of incomprehensibility "Saycation" - When you say to your boss that you're going on a vacation because he expects you to, since you'd planned to visit your aunt in Arden for five days with your family, except the actual vacation isn't happening because your parents' dog bit your father and now your aunt doesn't want them to bring the said dog...

...and you can't go on your own because you don't have a driver's license and need someone to pick you up at the Kingston station, but everyone there is too busy during the time you can go, so you actually just stay home to relax a bit and get some school-prep tasks done...

...although death_and_taxes mean that you

a) also go to a funeral
and
b) question whether you really should be missing out on three days of potential income...

...and this saycation isn't a complete staycation because the last two days you go to your parents' cottage with them and the not-currently-vicious-but-occasionally-carsick dog...

...and then you go for a walk with them and see a porcupine lumbering off the road, disappearing into the forest.

...

Not to make the definition too narrow or anything. But the porcupine part was important!
