epitome of incomprehensibility An evening walk through Pointe Claire village to one bus stop and then from another bus stop home. Inward-directed thoughts (wear contact lenses tomorrow) turned to outward-directed ones. It was pleasant to let observation guide some of my mental activity, even if the things noticed were mundane:

-I like to hear people laughing outside. Friendly. Where are they coming from? Not the bar.

-Ah, a restaurant called Lou's, still with people inside.

-Outdoor Christmas tree lights feel cheery. Request to keep some lights around through February, not necessarily in tree shapes.

-Kids still skating around the rink with the big tree in the middle. Two. Older kids. It must be 10:30 by now. Yup. And what temperature, -10? Colder. Not quite -15 (nose can come out of scarf sometimes).

-I always say "merci" when I get on a bus. Now, "bonsoir, merci."

-The Pine Beach tunnel smells like weed again. Annoying? Only slightly.

epitome of incomprehensibility And the woman on the bus who looked Korean had a such a calm-seeming face, but I worried if that impression was influenced by stereotypes about "oriental inscrutability" (paraphrasing Fear_of_Flying) or just the fact of her having small features. Like, small eyes, noses, AND mouth? Obviously you will have a placid temper. Logic. 250124
