raze "people can feel the love when you've welcomed them into your home and you've said, 'thanks for being my friend, or for being my family. come on in. eat something.' that's very much part of my family's ethos. part of what i think is important when you're entertaining for the holidays is to make sure that you're going easy on yourself too. i'm a big fan of advance preparation and trying not to take on too much. i failed at that miserably in my younger years, where i would just do way too much. and i didn't end up enjoying any of it. but now i'm getting better at that. i think the trick is less is more. make great dishes that you like, and then stop. sometimes i have to go to the mirror and say, 'karen, stop. it's enough.' and it always is."
