epitome of incomprehensibility

(Note: his starts out all too serious and only gets funny at the very end.) I was on the phone with my brother, who was talking about how Canada's first prime minister was treating Chinese Canadians so badly: hiring them for cheap railway labour and not giving them the most basic health and safety protections - many died of accidents and disease - and finally putting severe restrictions Chinese immigration after the railway was built. It's very, "Thanks for doing a job no one else would - now go away." The justification of course was racism; Chinese people weren't considered as proper and upstanding as the white Western-European sorts. My brother said that John A. Macdonald had used the word "Aryan" and stressed how horrible the word was since it was the same one the Nazis used; I said it wasn't the point what WORD he used, it was the idea, and I said this: "Mind you, Hitler hadn't been invented yet." Invented? Invented!? This is why I need more sleep.
