if life is continuously lived for the live-action virtual film that it is, there are unfortunately no re-writes nor are there any edits. and so, with a single chance at getting lines and actions correct the first time, like a stage performer, what you see is what you get. perfection is for real actors, and i guess i’m just not one of them.

perfection is just the way you are at just this moment one of the last times i went to the symphony (my old roommate got two tickets to several concerts per year from his parents) gil shaham was playing the brahms violin concerto with the mso. he played some out of tune notes, but he sure did play those notes. even from the balcony he was great to watch. fuck the perfect robot technical performance. i'll take a well played mistake anyday. (i tell my students that story all the time)

thanks, i needed that. it was quite a weekend, one for the personal history book for sure, but we go on; one foot in front of the other, being what we are, which is 'human.'

for the past few days i have felt light and free; moreso than I have in as many years. figures i would hurt someone else in the process of standing up straight. fucking interpersonal dynamics of being human.
