I fried this in peanut oil and added a spoonful of hoisin sauce as well as a bit of rice vinegar. But when I tasted it there was something missing, sauce-wise. I'd left it out while cooking because I don't like it much, but it blends well with the other things and makes them taste stir-fry-ish: your humble soy sauce. (Note that hoisin sauce uses gluten as a thickener, so it isn't good for people with intolerances to this. It tastes sort of like a concentrated sweet-sour chicken dip.
