oh man. i didn't just have a crush on chris stevens when i was watching "northern exposure" religiously in high_school (i used to tape each episode as it aired while i was in class and then watch it as soon as i got home). i wanted to *be* that guy. he was half the reason i grew out my hair and got my ear pierced and started wrapping bandanas around my head. others have included claire fisher in "six_feet_under", ally sheedy's character in "the breakfast club", adrian in the first "rocky" film, spike spiegel in "cowboy_bebop", and virginia in elliott chaze's "black wings has my angel" — for my money the best femme fatale in the best noir ever written. (and mulder and scully stole my heart, too.)

Looks like we’re all going to have to share Mulder and Scully! I haven’t had a lot of other fictional character crushes but Elliot Page as Juno sticks out. And yeah, okay, I’ll admit I’ve definitely had a thing for Angel from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

my tastes in attraction, especially physically but also platonically, rarely align with hollywood's priorities. but while they aren't my favorite movies of all time I absolutely found myself crushing on Charlotte_Gainsbourg as Stephanie in The_Science_of_Sleep (as well as Gael_Garcia_Bernal as Stephane, a very emotionally disturbed character cultivating an unstable unhealthy and unfair relationship but I still felt the chemistry anyway and they did too). And speaking emotional instability even though the last several scenes of Silver_Linings_Playbook kind of had me rolling my eyes, as it served to undo so much of its unflinching psychological portrait for the sake of a happy ending, Jennifer_Lawrence as Tiffany definitely won me over as a character even in the midst of bad writing. Also Shannyn_Sossoman as Mikal in Wristcutters and the girl who played Susan in the Narnia films were memorable crushes from my teenage years. And the farcical and ridiculous film Kung_Fury has a minor character named Barbarianna who could do anything she wanted to do to me.
