slothisily i should first state that i don't really know what to believe when it comes to a greater power, the one many like to refer to as God, Abba Father, the Alpha and Omega, the Rock and Fortress, and so on.

everytime i think about this greater power i think of all the different religions everyone is so attatched to, thinking they are right and everyone else is wrong.

who am i supposed to believe? there are so many different views all coming to me at a million miles an hour and all i know is that i don't know.

perhaps the bible was written metaphorically, this is considering the bible is The Book of truth. i personally have not read the whole book, only parts, and those parts were not well understood until someone else explained them to me. of course i know i should read it all and come to my own conclusions, and someday i shall when i have time and patience and more knowlege than i have now.

as to the topic of metaphors, perhaps the God that everyone is talking is just a metaphor for the world. this is where i confuse myself because God had a son and the son dies and is resurected from the dead, can the world have a child? maybe, maybe not, i don't really know. but anyway, the world, the universe, as the greater power. it seems to make sense to me, with the ten commandments being rules, guidlines, things to help a person lead a good life.

heaven could be not an actual Place, but more like an idea. going to heaven could just be the satisfaction of knowing you have lead your life to the best possible degree, knowing you have tried your best.

on the contrary, going to hell could just be the realization that your life has been full of evil, evil being defined to some degree by doing horrible things, or harmful things, and having no regret for said things.

i guess we'll never know who or what is right. just another mystery to life i suppose.
