regards
epitome of incomprehensibility I started my last paragraph of an email with "regardless" and then ended with "best regards."

I can imagine at least one of the two people I'm writing to will joke about this if I don't change it - will say things like, "Well, which is it? Regards or no regards??"

But more likely they won't notice. Regardless, I'll try to change one. Maybe the first one.

e_o_i I ended up taking off the "best regards" because I'd already put goodbye-type things before that.

"Regardless" was important, however stiff-sounding, because it was there to signal, "Even if you don't have any job leads for me, you were both great teachers and I hope your term goes well; I'm not just saying those things because I think you'll give me a job somehow."
