mustering_my_courage
epitome of incomprehensibility Finally, I emailed two former profs of mine, explaining my stuck situation with the University of Vienna (even if the Wieners accept me, I'll have to wait until next year) and asking if they might have any research or proofreading jobs, or job leads.

I had the idea for a week at least, but the actual execution of it terrified me.

But execution here is not killing, as in "I'm making a killing," and it's not even making a living. Because Dad's former student Rob called me asking if I could put in a good word to get him a tutoring job, and basically I can't if they don't need anyone for what he tutors right now, so my "word" was pretty much useless. So this email might also be useless. But it means something, mustering up my courage, because maybe it will encourage more courage in the future. Maybe.

e_o_i "Mustering" also sounds like mustard, which you can put on a wiener. Not that kind of wiener - get your mind out of the gutter. I mean someone from Vienna. They like having mustard squeezed on them, and who am I to judge?

(No, but seriously: the word "wiener" comes from from "Wien" (Vienna), though the city name is pronounced "veen" in German.)
