raze she was rollerblading in the park, her earbuds in, her little black dog leashed. she chastised him for lagging behind and slowing her down.

"come on," she said. "come on. COME ON."

there was no encouragement in it.

the dog was a little thing. his legs were working as hard as they could. he turned back to look at me for a second, and i think his eyes were saying, "can you believe this shit? give me some rollerblades and put *her* on a leash."

flowerock I often talk for my dog in my head while interacting with her... and often times I realize I'm being kind of a stupid pushy human too... but you know, ten minutes to sniff one blade of grass is one enough sometimes... still, dogs can teach patience and compassion well if we pay attention.

Currently my dog would probably say "let's go squirrel hunting! Teach me to climb the trees! Pleeeaaase!?"
