today i had a wonderful conversation with a lady outside the heritage. she was sitting in a chair with a dog on a leash by her. i was talking to her about her dog and how pretty he was, and playing with him. she said she used to think he was the ugliest dog, that he looked like a rat, but now he's grown on her. he is a brindle norwegian elkhound. he was the sweetest dog. so we talked about him, and then she said how important it was that there are people like me in the world, people who love animals. it made me happy. she and her dog were so nice. i told her to have a good day, and i really meant it. then i went in to the heritage and bought some tibetan prayer flags and incense.

the ones worth rescuing, i already do. {in my experience, many animals were more willing to come around than humans, who are very unmovable.}
