epitome of incomprehensibility
|
A mango day is precipitated when one decides at 11:30 the night before that one MUST finish two things, right now, before sleeping: a) read a chapter about Dionysius Thrax and Sextus Empiricus b) answer an email (but also go off on several tangents, lengthening the length and the time taken) That causes one to get to bed late and, consequently, be tired at work. One thus decides, after lunch, to get mango bubble tea from the place down the street and later, following one's first choir practice of the season, also to purchase mango ice cream ("tofu" yogurt with real pieces of mango mixed in). So one gets fruit but also twice the amount of sugar one needs. One also contemplates the usefulness of stating that one "deserves" a treat. Philosophically: Q: Do I deserve a bubble tea? A: I wouldn't say that. But you also don't NON-deserve one. I don't think the term "deserve" applies here. Tiredly: Q: Should I get ice cream? It's past 9:30 and the ice cream place is still open and the bus won't leave for seventeen minutes. A: Why the hell not? You deserve it. Philosophical A: Ahem! We talked about this!!
