raze no one in this city knows how to make a decent triple-decker anymore. i mean, i guess mike at baker's probably still does. but that place lost something when sue wasn't there anymore to say, "you want the same?" and "gravy all over?" and mike lost our business after treating us like an infectious disease when our oven died and we asked if he'd set aside some white meat so we could have a respectable christmas dinner. you don't do that to customers who've been with you for years. i've since suffered through necrotized bacon and turkey that tasted like leather cured in turpentine. last night's sad styrofoam prisoner was the end of the line. never again will i choke down burnt toast and fries thinner than my prepubescent pecker at half-mast. i'd rather eat rocks and make_believe they're beef medallions soaked in brandied peppercorn cream. and maybe i will. 260622
