staples
raze there should have been a puncture_wound.

i was working on my sixth grade science project. it was about light. i used laser pointers and small panels of standing glass to demonstrate how it moved and fractured without losing its identity.

i was building the display board. i left my stapler on the floor without thinking and stepped on it when i wasn't paying attention to where i was going. i felt the sharp teeth of thin wire divorced from its duty bite into the bottom of my foot.

i screamed. when i pulled my sock off to see how bad it was, there wasn't a mark on me. not anywhere.

all these years later, i'm still waiting for a two-pronged welt to rise like a belated birthday gift from a vampire with a twisted sense of humour.
