raspberry_hibiscus
epitome of incomprehensibility In the health food store, the expensive herbal tea brand makes health-restoring claims. I cast a critical eye. Helps with menstrual cramps? ...You could say that about any of them. Hot drinks have a soothing effect. Reduces nausea? ...Sure, ginger can do that. Makes you sleepy? ...Maybe. I see ingredients I don't know, and I can't assess them. My critical eye doesn't have enough lenses.

At the end of the row there's hibiscus and raspberry, which doesn't claim to do anything. I just remember it tastes good. so I get a box of the same flavour in the less expensive brand.

I'm drinking it now. It smells really, really good and it tastes like comfort without being sugary.

Surely you can make a health claim from that: "This tea will probably make you momentarily happier if you like the smell of raspberry and hibiscus."

unhinged hibiscus has a special ability among herbs to relax blood vessels hence the claim it helps with cramps. it is also supposedly a good herbal treatment for migraine if taken several times a day. 170331
