potpourri
raze she turns the corner as air explodes from her nose and mouth. even her sneeze is a song. she halves the distance between us. says she'll fix us some drinks. i meet her husband on my way down the stairs. blonde hair spilling out of a loose ponytail. diaphanous beard that belongs on a face forty years younger. a lisp that sounds earned. somehow he knows my name. he shows me where i can leave my shoes. i'd sit and sift through whatever words we might have for each other, but i can't find my glasses. every pair i pick up belongs to someone else. gold frames gripping alien glass. the walls made moist and wanting. i fall to my knees and puke up flowers and herbs. red and dry as my unvarnished eyes. our souls are flooded cities. our clothes are of the earth. this is what i have to give. so tell me what it's worth. 250105
