raze i was seduced by the tight weave and tanned hide of microfiber cloth before i knew the feeling of its long arms wrapped around me. a new mattress needed clothes. these garments seemed as good as any. they would have been perfect winter companions, but we were waist-deep in the most humid summer i've ever known. the sheets harnessed all the heat my body had to give. i couldn't stop sweating. i felt the sagging of my second skin and opened my eyes amazed any sleep had found me. i know now that i run hot at night. i would lay my body down on a block of ice if i thought i wouldn't wake in a river of my own making. 230831
