epitome of incomprehensibility Sometimes it's hard to know what people mean by this. I just told myself: "No, don't write 'seems to suggest'! Just write 'suggest'!" (I'm working on an essay).

The mindfulness handout (paraphrased): "You *think* that negative self talk is part of holding yourself to high standards, but it actually wears you down."

Okay, I guess they mean more things like, "Oh no, I wrote something slightly redundant...therefore, I'm a total failure!" (To be fair, I also think stuff like this sometimes.)

Okay, tangent over, Kirsten. Get the fuck back to work. (I don't think *this* is negative self-talk either, since it amuses me more than beats me down.)
