raze there's a quality certain actresses have. a sort of mesmerizing vulnerability.

gena rowlands has it in her husband john cassavetes' films. lois smith has it in "east of eden" and "five easy pieces". piper laurie has it in "the hustler" (i think an argument can be made that she's the bruised heart of the whole film). miho kanno has it in her remarkable near-silent performance in takeshi kitano's "dolls". natalie wood has it in "rebel without a cause" and a few other films. zooey deschanel has it in "all the real girls".

michelle's got it too. when her face screws up with pain and she starts to cry, it hurts to watch. and when she smiles, it feels like the sun peaking out from behind a shield of clouds.

too bad about the rest of the "dawson's creek" alumni/alumnae...

unhinged i felt bad for her after heath died.

in all the pictures and all the stories, you could tell it wasn't a game or a gig. the poor thing was tore up and didn't have the energy to hide it
