epitome of incomprehensibility
It
was
a
throwback
to
find
both
these
names
amongst
this
term's
class
of
Sociolinguistics students -
in
elementary
school
I
remember
saying
,
maybe
inaccurately,
that
there
was
ALWAYS
both
a
Jennifer
and
a
Jessica
in
my
class
.
So
I
figured
those
names
were
more
millennial
than
gen-X,
to
put
labels
on
time
frames.
But
here
they
are
,
both
of
them
,
in
one
class
(
although
one
spells
her
name
a
bit
differently
than
my
template
here
).

(
I
meant
Gen
Z
,
the
"generation"
of
the
fresh
-outta-high-school-or-CEGEP students
now
.)

raze
two
sisters
who
saved
me
for
a
second
or
two
when
everything
seemed hopeless.
one
with
her
dark
eyes
and
the
balm
of
her
hand
.
the
other
with
a
dance
that
twisted
a
terrible
night
into
something
joyous,
if
only
for
the
time
it
took
a
single
song
to
fill
our
ears
with
the
raw
material necessary
to
make
our
bodies
move
.
