raze i've always been fascinated by this outgrowth of boundless childhood imagination, though i never had an imaginary friend of my own. i wonder what he or she would have been like. i'm going with a girl. and i'm going to say her name would have been susan, only because i don't think i've ever known a susan and it sounds like a strong name to me. 130421

amy adaptability My mom's name is Susan. I showed this post to her and she went "huh." subdued pride.

My childhood imaginary friend's name was Missy. I tended to "smash her like a pancake" (my then way of putting it) since she was fairy sized.

And my brother thought up twins named Mac and Lac- don't tell him i told you that.

no reason this made me laugh. a tiny squish-friend.

also, i know like a million susans. so many that things get confusing sometimes. for the most part, they're my parents' age... interesting how names go in and out of style.

amy adaptability Lol, i was big on SNL's Mr. Bill.

We had a blue parakeet named Mr. bill who shared his cage with a Colonel Mustard.

A canary named Wolfie and bigger parakeet with black specks on wings went by Sargeant Pepper to round out the picture.
