glide
handel I want to be just like a melody,
I want to drift into the calm ether,
I want to soar beside kites flying high,
I want to flee this world without colour.

But I cannot; alone, lost and in strife,
I am a pencil-sketch of a person,
A victim of my fears, of my own life,
Cowering, begging things do not worsen.

Arms around my knees, embracing darkness,
Still I cannot escape this day-glow air.
But damage is soundless to headphoned ears,
And whispered to me is a hopeful prayer:

"I want to be just like a melody,
Like a simple sonnet, in harmony."
