tender_square (a poem composed from "half_asleep_thoughts")

it's a brand new morning, and
we are layered in triplicate.

all i really know is
that i am what i discover.

we see different kinds of static
that can explain this, the plan to hold
and be beholden to no one. my eyes
were requiring the sea to return.
viscous breezes. muscles lost
to the sandcastle that didn't really
have a firm life.

i'm drawn to the places that taste most like you.

it's something that comes swelling outward:
little drill bits of love, blown back
onto the stark slope of what's holding you.

we should be talking, but
we have the emotional career
of rubies. and i get paid to carry
an extra heart inside me.

epitome of incomprehensibility I can imagine the windy beach! And the nervousness about carrying metaphorical rubies. 220216

e_o_i ...er, I guess I was conflating the rubies with the extra heart. Both red_things (plus, it's hard to tell apart reading and misreading, as kerry insightfully said). But yeah, great work! 220216

tender_square aw, shucks! thanks e_o_i! 220216
