Why
is
it
that
everything
fits
in
your
suitcase
when
you
’re setting
out
but
not
when
you
’re heading
back
?
Even
my
clothes
don’t
want
to
go
home
.
They
’re
cats
who
know
they
’re
on
their
way
to
the
vet
, contorting themselves
wildly
so
I
can
’t shove
them
into
the
crate
and
close
the
door
.
They
’re
my
dog
on
the
way
to
a
bath
, pedalling
the
air
as
if
they
could
run
away
from
the
water
.
No
matter
how
I
fold
and
roll
and
twist
,
there
just
isn’t
enough
space
to
force
my
measly possessions
back
into
the
space
they
came
from
.
It
will
be
the
same
for
me
.
When
I
try
to
squeeze
back
into
the
dimensions
of
home
,
I
just
won
’t
fit
.
We
’ve
all
grown
taller
than
the
lives
we
left
behind
.
