epitome of incomprehensibility
|
I gave a somewhat mixed review of Pearls_Before_Swine, so here's a comic I can gush about mostly unreservedly: the goofy-cute art with meticulous details, especially in character's clothes, and the things taken from history and literature... plus a good dash of incongruity. Anachronism! Maybe it's anachronism. In any case, I like Sexy Batman and the Bronte sisters. It's online, and Kate Beaton also makes print books - there was one for sale in Drawn & Quarterly when I was there last week. It made me happy even though I was only there to buy poetry. It was such a great thing to pick up and go, "Oh, I recognize that! Oh, that one's new!"
