epitome of incomprehensibility It involves ranking items on a sliding scale between two differing concepts (real life: this was like an avant-garde participatory art display at Concordia).

I'm playing with Aimee and her partner. She shuffles cards, pulls a scale concept from one deck (masculine to feminine) and the words to be sorted from the other (first names - there are about 7).

So everyone has to rank these names from most masculine to most feminine. Aimee, cheerily, "This is an easy one."

Not that there are right or wrong answers. We get points when our ranking of an item is different than anyone else's and points when it is the same as everyone else's. We don't get points if one person gets one answer and two people get another.

Philosophically interesting...but wouldn't that mean everyone always gets the same score? Where is the competition? Or is it just that I'm getting the rules wrong??

Philosophically, and to distract from my ignorance, I ask, "Hey, since you can play as a non-binary character," (but since when is this also an RPG?) "couldn't 'most non-binary' be on one side of this scale? Wouldn't that be interesting, ranking names from gender-neutral to gender-specific?"

Joe agrees that it would be. Amy seems impatient to start. She rolls the dice (since when are there dice?)

Dawdling, I decide on a word - what I don't recognize then as a dream_word because I don't know I'm dreaming - "Enbiest! For most non-binary."
