buffet
tender_square twenty metal eyelids lifted and shut, housing hot foods warmed by chafing fuel. we tonged sausage links and sliced ham, bacon so crisp it crumbled, eggs whipped to cloud consistency. branded waffles and silver dollar pancakes. slabs of spiced salmon and pasta drenched in red sauce. fried chicken and shrimp tempura and deep fried tater tots. bowls of beets and spiced artichoke hearts and meaty olives and speared pickles. there were too many choices, it was too many calories, it was too high in price, but we had to get our value's worth, stretching our stomachs past the point of comfortableness. 230813
