tenacity
amy my dad said to me, amy you are like me. it is in the genes. we are loners. people do not want to be our friends.

it's tricky, dad. but you can't control people, you have to work with them, however it's possible to work with the particular person in question. everybody's different and you have to respect them. you may or may not get what you want, you may or may not find camaraderie. it's all some particular situation, not some overriding principle about the nature of our own beings. if we share anything, it is how to isolate ourselves and not the isolation itself. there's nothing solid or stable about it.
