permission_to_name
epitome of incomprehensibility
I
don't
know
if
I
ever
explained
why
my
brother
never
gets
a
full
name
when
I
write
about
him
on
blather
.
It's
just
this
:
he
asked
me
not
to
put
it
here
.
My
boyfriend
said
writing
his
first
name
is
all
right
.
People
I
don't
know
so
well
,
I
haven't
asked
permission
,
but
sometimes
I
change
their
names
anyway
.
I
don't
know
if
I'm
always
consistent.

...
raze
i
think
i've
always
stuck
to
pronouns
for
the
most
part
(
he
/she/they/you),
but
i
know
some
names
have
wormed
their
way
into
the
words
over
the
years
.
i
used
to
wonder
sometimes
if
anyone
i'd
written
about
would
recognize
me
—
or
themselves —
in
the
event
that
they
somehow
found
me
here
.
but
that
never
happened
.
and
there's
some
comfort
in
knowing
it
won't
happen
now
,
given
how
buried
blather
has
become
.
the
person
i've
written
the
most
about
is
probably
my
dad
,
who
told
me
to
go
ahead
and
write
anything
about
him
i
wanted
to
.
i
don't
always
name
him
,
but
he's
often
around
in
some
form
,
either
as
the
teller
of
the
tale
or
a
character
in
the
story
being
told
.
