raze in the first email she ever sent me, she wrote: "i really hope this is you." i assumed she was expressing her fear that the art wasn't an accurate reflection of its maker and the path from soul to sound was fraught with deception and affectation. the truth was nothing so poetic. she wasn't sure if the email address she'd found would lead her to me. that was all. i've been getting things wrong from the day i learned how to read. i think i'm better equipped to work out what's real now. but only just. 240401
