hiss
raze that one old woolco brand cassette tape was eaten years ago by an angry stereo. it lived in a coat pocket for a while, put there until a way to splice the torn ends back together could be found, but it vanished, misplaced or lost in a move. some of what was on the tape is now lost forever. no one's ever going to hear the story of super tornado man again. but most of the important bits survive in second and third generation dubs on other tapes. and though the hiss around the sound is thicker than it would be on the source tape, the one that became food for a dirty playback head and got lost and won't be found again, the excitement of making something out of nothing and not being old or good enough to know how it was happening or how to bottle it comes through loud and clear. twenty years of slow degradation and hiss can't take the edge off of that. 140501
