heavy_rain
raze the storm we were promised on wednesday showed up late, shattering what passes for silence in this house as the first dark strands of friday morning shook free from what was left of thursday night. no hail. just heavy rain, battering glass so the bruises wouldn't show. terse flashes of lightning made a sluggish strobe light of my bed. the thunder growled. i growled back. in all that sound and fury, i found a way to fall asleep with less effort than i have at any other time this week. if i'd known what dreams were waiting for me on the other side of the veil, i would have stepped outside to let the warm water pelt my naked body, and i would have barked a little louder. 220722
