raze an ant's heart is a tube that pumps blood without colour from head to toe and back again. their nervous system is a cord that winds through everything. a supercharged spine with narrow limbs. they breathe through their pores, eating the air with dozens of tiny toothless mouths.

a drowning ant will spend hours struggling to survive. sometimes days. i've seen it happen. the insect won't stop trying to outrun death until there's no breath left in its body.

we're a lot like that too. aren't we?
