It naive to think that our natural state is some sort of all-out, unfettered "freedom"--that the restrictions (aka "ideals") we impose on ourselves are like something we just happened to find at the side of the road and could just as easily toss back, or like a board game we could all just quit playing because its dinnertime.

Sometimes I also think it would be nice to let everything fall apart. But, I imagine I would find myself itching to put a few things back together not long after, if you get what I mean--regardless of whether or not I would ever find it emotionally, intellectually, and physically satisfying.
