epitome of incomprehensibility My aunt's is two rooms away from where I'm currently writing.

It used to be across the street, but now my cousin and his girlfriend use the old shop as a sleeping and storage area. Now it's in part of the house that used to be a hotel. And it's not just her art displayed there, but other local artisans' work and some imports, e.g. jewelry from India and little wooden tour bus sculptures from Colombia and dresses from Indonesia.

People are usually more familiar with batik for clothes. She uses the technique to make impressionistic nature art as well as small cards (tourists like the cards with people's names on them - if a name's not there she takes commissions). I like how the ripply effect jives with water and waterfalls and I'm in awe of the level of detail in her more complex work.

I do more abstract or patterned designs: snowflakes I particularly enjoy. And I make holiday cards, because people buy those at the craft show. It's_September and I'm writing Joyeux Noel and such.
