epitome of incomprehensibility

Overhead_in_conversation while blathing_on_a_train: A woman on a nearby seat is telling the man beside her about her shaman training. She traveled around the west coast of North America, seeking sites with spiritual energy. One example was Mount Shasta, which she said has some connection to Luminaria (?), a place that disappeared when Atlantis did, except both still exist in the spirit world. Something like that. Okay, Wikipedia says Lemuria is the lost continent's name. And Mount Shasta, which I'm sure I'd heard of before, is a volcanic mountain in California. The legends about a hidden city in the mountain are from early New Agers near the turn of the last century. It all seems unlikely and rather derivative, though the woman talking has *some* kind of imaginative energy, whether sincere in her own beliefs or merely scammy. But I wonder whether some of the legends developed from artifacts of past civilizations buried around the mountain. (Oh, and my silly side took the name Lemuria and pictured an advanced civilization of lemurs.)
