epitome of incomprehensibility One of the wall hangings in the room I'm staying in:

LEBE
LIEBE
LACHE

An ocean away and there's no escape. Although this is technically Live, Love, Laugh.

e_o_i Context: in the TA room last year (department of Classics, Modern Languages and Linguistics), one colleague was complaining about kitschy wall hangings. She expressed impatience with kitchens bearing signs that said "Kitchen," but reserved particular ire for "Live, Laugh, Love."

So another TA wrote exactly that on the blackboard in curly cursive script. But he was outdone in cheesiness when someone later changed his words to "Live, Laugh, LING."

And my dad has a drying cloth at home with a picture of a canoe and "Live, Love, Lake."

I don't know whether to find the memetic nature of the phrase annoying or oddly endearing. And whatever happened to Eat, Pray, Love? (Always_appreciate_alliteration, evidently. Only don't go one letter previous - at least not in the U.S.)
