hyperdating
Q During the late 90's, when the Web became widely available especially to young adults, growth in the commodification of romance was swift, rising exponentially alongside the increase in single people. By 2003 one in five was using some kind of online dating service. Statistics suggest that by 2005 more than 50 per cent of single people will meet online somebody who eventually will become more than a short-term partner.

Indeed, internet dating has taken off to such an extent that it is now sometimes referred to not as " cyberdating " but as " hyperdating. " Reportedly some people set up 10 online dates every week, sometimes several a night.

This is a revolution. Indeed it never really happened when the telephone or fax came on the scene.
