hoodie
raze i had such high hopes for this thick cotton casing. holes for hands and head to snake through. an oversized hood and neck snaps to keep the cold out. made by people who spend their days climbing trees. workers who need warmth as much as they need the freedom of unrestricted movement. i've never spent so much money on a shirt in my life. but it felt like the right move. it came in the mail yesterday. the weight of the thing. that was what struck me. when i slipped it on and wriggled into the soft sanctuary of its insides, the part of my back that screamed at me when i was a hundred pounds heavier found its voice again. back, then, to all the layers that have become my steadfast companions, with a pocket full of salt and cellulose. 241213
