absolutes
raze we sift through maybes
and almosts
as if they were agile
durable
less inclined to break down
when held up to the light

the purity is in the imperfections
gashes on a smooth white wall
the protrusions bones make
the hesitation before the fall

your blood_red lips
harbour moisture like a criminal
and what feeds
keeps us hungry

epitome of incomprehensibility When Janet my creative writing teacher was in Montreal, we walked around a craft fair together.

One person made mini minimalist framed pieces. Inside would be a saying and, for art, at least one smooth stone. I'm picturing a pale green translucent one.

Anyway, we looked at one that said "Family always..." or "Family is..." and Janet snorted, I think at the definitiveness. "Family's always like that? What psychopath wrote that??"
