ovenbird I always liked the white freezies best. They taste like nothing identifiable and I admire the clandestine way they guard their identities. The essence of a colourless freezie is a complete surprise, an accident of food science, a miracle of human engineering. I send my kids to school with toonies in their pockets so they can purchase plastic tubes of sugar water to suck back like overgrown hummingbirds. Joy is the weight of that coin in their hands the second before it is exchanged for what childhood tastes like. 250523
