raze they spent most of the winter somewhere warmer. florida. or maybe mexico. with the worst of the cold behind us now, they've made their way back. i don't see them together much. most days it's just him. he locks his flexible toes around the primary wires of a utility pole and tells me things i need to know. when i'm lucky enough to find his partner perched beside him, they soothe me with synchronized song, whistling while they weep. even their wings have stories to sing. 240302
