raze i can't remember the last time i was so invested in the outcome of a fictional story, or when two people who didn't exist beyond the page felt so real to me. so beautiful and breakable and true. this book, or at least the iteration that's resting on my stomach while my fingers punch these disintegrating macbook keys, arrived at the wake county public library eleven years and four months ago. someone at some point impaled the barcode with an uneven horizontal line and covered the logo beside it with a crooked cross. they branded its belly with its date of birth. then they sent it off to be sold for next to nothing. now it's mine. and it's given me these characters i know i won't be able to shake, whose minds can't keep pace with all their hearts can hold. 240812
