autumnal
raze this is the season i love best. i think because it allows me to believe, however briefly, that an ending is a sigh deep enough to sleep inside of for a while. that the coming cold might hold off a little longer if i ask it to. that the sun doesn't dip below the horizon without weeping for the loss of light it lacks the strength to forestall. that falling and flight aren't so far apart. that i can lose myself in the well-loved leaves of maple trees and trust you to find my face, however hidden the mess of me may be. that there are still soft things squirming beneath the soil of this hard world. and that i could be one of them. 261025
