epitome of incomprehensibility

According to my definition, anyway, a snowstorm needs snow + wind. Today's moved in and out of sync: quiet snow, then wind. And then both together, suddenly, in a startling whirl of white. It made me wonder why that brother of mine had gone out in it. Later in the afternoon, when I was going grocery shopping, a gust of air blowing powder off the roof of the store had me thinking it was on again. But no - the clouds had retreated to the edges of the sky. The wind was just giving an encore, accompanied by an echo of its partner's frosty voice.
