toy_piano
raze he found two of them at a yard_sale eighteen years ago. it was the same day i caught the film adaptation of "he died with a felafel in his hand" on tv. don't ask me why i remember that. the woman who owned the house we were living in at the time was selling them. one was in rough shape, but he brought them both home. the one that didn't work so well was white. the one that still had some life in it was brown and shaped just like a miniature upright piano. it had a mirror where the music stand would have been on its full-scale sibling and came with a matching bench. maybe it was because i was smoking a lot of pot back then, but something about the toy piano's voice struck me as being disconcerting. i could play the brightest sequence of notes, and the sound of hammers striking thin metal rods would bend it somewhere sinister. i should have made more use of that thing when i had the chance. 240616
