goodness
raze i have taken to using this word in god's place. as in saying, "oh goodness," while slipping off a hooded sweatshirt in the early dark, feeling the hard fist the day has pressed into the small of my back, five paces from the bathroom and five more from the bed i haven't made in weeks. not because goodness is softer than god, but because i don't believe god is here to hear anything i have to say, sincere or salt-encrusted, pious or temporal. goodness. gracious. me oh my. 241010
